Libas by Riyaz Gangji closes Day Three at Bangalore Fashion Week in ornate occasion wear
Libas by Riyaz Gangji presented a richly worked occasionwear edit at the closing show of Day Three of the 27th edition of Bangalore Fashion Week. The looks moved between bridal red, ivory sherwanis and darker menswear tailoring.
Bengaluru, 17 October 2026 — Libas by Riyaz Gangji brought a polished ceremonial mood to the closing show of Day Three at the 27th edition of Bangalore Fashion Week. The collection, seen through a selection of womenswear and menswear looks, was anchored in Indian occasion wear with a focus on surface richness, structured silhouettes and fluid drape.
A bridal red lehenga set set the tone in the womenswear direction, its skirt densely worked with embroidery and tonal patterning. The blouse carried a fitted, embellished finish, while the sheer red dupatta added movement and softened the weight of the embroidery. The overall effect was opulent yet controlled, with the volume of the skirt balanced by a close, sculpted upper body.
The menswear direction leaned into formal Indian dressing. One ivory sherwani was rendered with all-over delicate embroidery and a high, closed neckline, paired with a soft-toned drape that fell from the shoulder and added depth to the silhouette. Another look paired a white sherwani with a pale patterned shawl, bringing contrast through texture rather than colour, and giving the ensemble a composed, layered quality.
A darker sherwani look introduced a sharper register. The jacket was cut close to the body and carried an intricate all-over motif in muted tones, worn with voluminous black trousers that grounded the outfit and gave it a contemporary edge. The styling kept the line clean, allowing the textile work and silhouette to remain central.
Across the selection, the label worked with a restrained palette of red, ivory, blush and black, using embroidery, brocade-like patterning and draped layers to build ceremonial presence. The collection read as occasion wear shaped for formal Indian dressing, where craft, structure and fabric texture carried the narrative.
